The Australian Cotton Industry Council (ACIC) is a forum for the industry to share information, discuss strategies and promote co operation between industry bodies. Cotton Australia is a grower member of ACIC and is responsible for executive administrative support.

Cotton Catchment Communities CRC

The Cotton Catchment Communities CRC (Cotton CRC) exists to provide high quality collaborative research and education, and to facilitate the adoption of activities that benefit the Australian cotton industry and regional communities in Australia. Cotton Australia is a founding participant of the Cotton CRC and makes a substantial annual financial and in-kind contribution to the organisation.

Cotton Research and Development Corporation

The Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) is a statutory authority established in 1990 under the Primary Industries and Energy Research and Development Act. The CRDC’s main purpose is to enhance the performance of the Australian cotton industry and community through investing in research and development, and its application. The CRDC also plays a key leadership role in setting the strategic direction for research and development investments in the Australian cotton industry. Cotton Australia represents growers and the industry in their partnership with the CRDC, and advises the CRDC on industry investment.

National Farmers’ Federation

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is the peak national body representing farmers and agriculture in Australia. The NFF is dedicated to proactively generating a greater understanding and better-informed awareness of farming’s modern role, contribution and value to the entire community. Cotton Australia is a member of the NFF and provides commodity specific information to the organisation.

NSW Irrigators Council

The NSW Irrigators Council supports the development and growth of sustainable irrigated agriculture in NSW. The Council manages NSW’s working rivers; adopts appropriate Government policies, laws and regulations; coordinates irrigation industry policy; and provides information to the community. Cotton Australia is a commodity member of the NSW Irrigators Council, being a key stakeholder in NSW irrigation matters.

Plant Health Australia

Plant Health Australia is the peak body for plant biosecurity and is responsible for working with its members to manage projects and co ordinate the development of national plant health policy and capability in Australia. Cotton Australia is a member of Plant Health Australia as the leading body for cotton biosecurity.

Queensland Farmers Federation

The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) is Queensland’s peak rural industry organisation representing approximately 13,000 primary producers across the state. Cotton Australia is a member of the QFF and plays an active role with the management of Queensland’s irrigation issues.
