Cotton Australia presents at agricultural teachers’ conference

Cotton Australia is continuing its work educating about our industry.

On Tuesday, Cotton Australia joined with Southern Cotton in the New South Wales Riverina region to host an industry seminar and gin tour for agriculture teachers.

The 100 teachers who attended were from across Australia, and they were in town for the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) annual conference.

The theme of the conference was ‘Just Add Water’. The teachers learnt about cotton’s water use efficiency, traceability from the paddock to product, and the uses of cotton – including seed to feed cattle and cotton seed oil used commercially for deep frying.

The event concluded with a tour of Southern Cotton’s gin at Whitton.

The attending teachers were engaged in the discussion and took the opportunity to ask questions about the industry.

Cotton Australia looks forward to engaging further with teachers about our industry in 2020.
