In south-west Queensland, data is being collected in a bid to make better use of the green energy being generated on-farm.

St George cotton grower Ian Brimblecombe is part of the 'Flow on benefits of Microgrids' project led by Queensland Farmers' Federation and Cotton Australia.

Ian hopes the feasibility study, funded by the federal government’s Regional and Remote Communities Reliability Fund, will result in a better two-way flow of energy to the grid.
